The closing ceremony of a cultural exchange event titled "The Charm of Taiji - A Martial Journey in Kecheng: A Sino-Polish Wu Style Taijiquan Culture Study Tour" was held in Kecheng district, Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.

The event, which seamlessly blended martial arts training, cultural experiences, and city exploration, served as a vibrant platform for cultural exchange between China and Poland, spreading tai chi culture among the Polish participants.

Taijiquan, also known as tai chi, is a type of Chinese physical exercise that involves slow, controlled movements.

A highlight of the event was the solemn disciple induction ceremony in Mapeng village, Shiliang town. Three Polish participants became disciples of Master Zhai Weichuan — the fifth-generation inheritor of the Wushi-style taijiquan, a national intangible cultural heritage item — and sixth-generation inheritor Zhai Shizong.

Over six days, the Polish participants engaged deeply with local culture, performing alongside members of the Quzhou Wushu Association at the opening ceremony.

They also ventured into rural areas to partake in traditional customs for welcoming Chinese New Year, such as writing the Chinese character "Fu", which means fortune, and dragon dancing, fully immersing themselves in the local atmosphere.

Furthermore, visits to cultural sites like the Family Temple of Confucius in Quzhou provided insights into the balanced harmony between Confucian philosophy and some of the core principles of tai chi.
