Quzhou cosmetics exports surge 35.4% in first ten months
Cosmetics exports from Quzhou, Zhejiang province reached 59.14 million yuan ($8.35 million) from January to October, representing a 35.4 percent year-on-year increase, according to Quzhou Customs.
At Changshan Lianya Cosmetics in Changshan county, workers in dust-proof suits are busy on the production line. A batch of lipsticks, valued at 876,000 yuan, undergoes grinding, molding, and packaging before being approved by Quzhou Customs for export to Brazil.
Changshan Lianya Cosmetics specializes in manufacturing and selling cosmetics to markets in Europe, the Americas, and Southeast Asia.
"Cosmetics face stringent requirements in terms of ingredient safety and labeling, with varying standards across countries," said Lu Hongbing, head of the company. "Quzhou Customs has helped us refine our quality control systems and optimize packaging labels, while also providing laboratory testing services."

This year, the company has expanded into the African market, with fourth-quarter orders up 15 percent year-on-year, according to Lu.
Similarly, Zhejiang Byshow Cosmetics maintains a bustling production line, with eyebrow pencils, eyeliners, and lip liners moving through automated processes.
"Our diverse range of products and extensive export markets complicate the declaration process," said Jiang Fangyong, the company's head. "Quzhou Customs has guided us in classifying our products and selecting optimal free trade agreements."
From January to October, the company applied for 39 certificates of origin, enjoying tariff reductions of 487,000 yuan in importing countries.
