Quzhou partners with universities to promote Confucian culture
An international promotion event for Southern Confucianism was held on Nov 2 at the Chinese Confucianism Museum in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.
The event attracted representatives from 15 Chinese universities, including Shandong University, Nanjing University, Xiamen University, and East China Normal University, as well as over 30 expat students from 19 countries, including the United States, France, Thailand, and Chile.
The event is part of the 2025 "Gathering at Quzhou: Beauty in Harmony" international exchange activities, which aims to strengthen ties and expand cooperation between Quzhou and major universities to promote Southern Confucianism.
During their stay, university representatives and expat students delved into Quzhou's Confucian culture, including visiting local historical sites and experiencing local intangible cultural heritage projects.

"In the context of globalization, dialogue and mutual learning among civilizations are crucial, and universities play a key role as hubs of knowledge and cultural exchange," said Cheng Ling, deputy director of Quzhou's culture and tourism bureau.
Quzhou has achieved fruitful cooperation with national universities through joint cultural exchange activities. In 2024, Quzhou hosted 16 international events, attracting over 1,600 participants from more than 40 countries and regions.
This event provided valuable resources for university representatives to conduct research and promote traditional Confucian culture, with expat students gaining insight into the global significance of Confucian culture.
