In Changshan county, Quzhou, Zhejiang province, Zhejiang Tianquan Biotechnology Company is pioneering advancements in the lion's mane mushroom industry.

At one of its farms, automated production lines operate continuously, with workers efficiently managing the mushroom substrate blocks. In adjacent temperature-controlled rooms, fresh lion's mane mushrooms flourish in a stable environment. The mushrooms are then dried for further processing, significantly enhancing their value.

Tianquan Biotechnology, focused on mushroom research and processing, produces 300 metric tons of lion's mane mushrooms annually, generating an output value of approximately 12 million yuan ($1.68 million), according to Chen Yilin, a company representative.

The company collaborates with domestic and international universities on genetic breeding and cultivation techniques, resulting in seven processed products, including lion's mane mushroom coffee, biscuits, and probiotics.

Lion's mane mushrooms, known for their nutrients and medicinal properties, are a unique specialty of Changshan county.

In recent years, the county has promoted its lion's mane mushroom industry by expanding from fresh and dried mushrooms to over 20 processed products, such as capsules, granules, coffee, and snacks.

Hong Jinliang, a senior agronomist at the county's agriculture and rural bureau, said that the cultivation of lion's mane mushrooms in the county mainly adopts seasonal cultivation, and plans include introducing more enterprises for factory cultivation and developing new products like sauces and noodles to expand market reach.
