A shipment of wooden doors manufactured by Jiangshan Oupai Door Industry Co – based in Jiangshan, a county-level city in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province – was recently inspected by Quzhou Customs before being loaded into containers bound for Romania.

"Our production has been bustling since the start of this year, with overseas orders surpassing last year's," said Xu Zhengleijie, deputy general manager of the company's foreign trade department.

Jiangshan – renowned for being the "Home of China's Wooden Doors" – is the country's largest manufacturing hub for them. The city is home to 130 big manufacturers in the fashionable wooden furniture sector, exporting products to Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, and beyond.

In the first two months of the year, the value of Jiangshan's wooden door exports shot up to 98.8 million yuan ($13.53 million), representing a 41.5 percent increase year-on-year.

To support local wooden door companies in expanding their international markets, Quzhou Customs has implemented streamlined procedures like tiered management, appointment-based inspections, and risk assessments to boost the efficiency of customs clearance.

Zheng Huagao, head of Jiangshan Changchang Wood Industry Co, said that customs priority inspections and 24-hour appointment services have reduced the company's order delivery time by over 30 percent.
