The "Zhejiang's Reading Caravan: Journey to Quzhou" kicked off on Feb 19 at the cultural hall of Shawan village in Kecheng district, Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province.

This event is an extension of the "Cultural Caravan" established by the Qianjiang Langhua Art Troupe in 2004.

Taking advantage of the leisure periods after spring farming and autumn harvest, the "Reading Caravan" provides regular cultural services, covering the main towns in 20 to 30 counties (county-level cities, districts) each year.

The goal is to enable high-quality cultural resources to reach more rural areas, in order to better meet the growing spiritual and cultural needs of the public.

The current route of this event will cover Shawan village in Kecheng district, Nianli village in Qujiang district, Tianfan village in Kaihua county, Fanjia village in Changshan county, Qinghu village in Jiangshan city, and Guancun village in Longyou county. Also on the list are Hangchuan village and Malu village in Hangzhou.

The caravan's journey will carry out activities at squares, cultural halls, and rural libraries each day to bring over 1,100 types of books for exhibition and sale, along with reading-themed photography exhibitions, art performances, and other activities. The event will continue until Feb 26.

Quzhou, known as the "Home of Southern Confucianism", is a key site for promoting to learn Confucian culture. It provides a rich cultural foundation for the "Reading Caravan" event.
