Highlights of Quzhou's annual government work report
At the fifth session of the eighth Quzhou people's congress on Jan 19, the city's government work report was released, summarizing its achievements of 2024 and outlining development goals for 2025.
In 2024, Quzhou's GDP grew by approximately 6.5 percent, with general public budget revenue increasing by 2.1 percent. Urban and rural residents' per capita disposable income rose by 4.9 percent and 6.5 percent respectively.
Nearly 86 consumer promotion events were held across the city in 2024. Quzhou led the province in growth rates for total visitors, overnight visitors, and total tourism revenue. Its total retail sales of consumer goods surpassed 100 billion yuan ($13.67 billion).
In 2024, the city attracted 171 manufacturing projects each worth over 100 million yuan, three of which were valued at over 10 billion yuan. The combined output value of the tangelo, oil camellia, and tea industries reached 15 billion yuan.
Quzhou's foreign trade exports grew by 18.7 percent in 2024. The Qujiang Port bonded warehouse began operations, adding five new overseas warehouses, and Quzhou Airport's annual passenger throughput exceeded 1 million.
For 2025, Quzhou aims for a GDP growth of around 6.5 percent, a social consumer goods retail sales growth of over 6 percent, and disposable income growth in line with the GDP growth. The urban unemployment rate is expected to keep below 5 percent.
The government will focus on 10 key areas, including advancing technological innovation, optimizing business environment, promoting rural vitalization, reducing carbon emissions, and improving public welfare.
