The story of cooperation between Alibaba and Kaihua county in Quzhou was shared at the Digital Empowerment and Common Prosperity Demonstration Zone Exhibition on Nov 19, during the 2024 World Internet Conference.

At the event, Liu Lin, a representative from Alibaba, used several sets of data to highlight the achievements made through the partnership in areas such as rural talent development and industrial upgrading.

Over the past year, Alibaba has established 100 livestreaming studios in Kaihua, engaging over 3,000 livestreaming practitioners.

Their collaboration has enhanced production efficiency and reduced the costs of agricultural products such as Kaihua sweet potatoes and Longding tea. It has not only increased the income of village collectives and large households but also attracted more young people to return to their hometowns to start businesses.

Local companies like Zhejiang Kayou Technology Co and Kaihua Yunen Clothing Co have also seen opportunities and relocated their e-commerce operations and livestreaming businesses back from Hangzhou and Yiwu, collectively boosting the local e-commerce industry.

Alibaba and Kaihua are jointly launching initiatives in digital talent development, digital agricultural production, digital cultural tourism promotion, and public welfare support, aiming to help more mountainous regions harness the power of the internet.
