The data revealed on Nov 12 that Quzhou achieved 2.91 billion yuan ($402.23 million) in online retail sales during this year's Singles Day shopping season, a 2.5-percent increase from last year.

The top sectors driving this growth were communications equipment, clothing and textiles, and cosmetics, accounting for 27.47 percent, 24.94 percent, and 10.60 percent of total sales, respectively.

E-commerce flourished in rural areas, with clothing and textiles, daily necessities, and food and oil leading the charge, capturing 41.86 percent, 12.59 percent, and 6.65 percent of the market share.

Livestreaming e-commerce also played a significant role, with Kecheng district, Jiangshan county-level city, and Longyou county emerging as the top performers, accounting for 36.60 percent, 35.36 percent, and 10.14 percent of total sales.

Among livestreaming platforms, Douyin dominated with 69.21 percent of Quzhou's livestreaming online retail sales, followed by Diantao and Kuaishou with 20.50 percent and 10.29 percent, respectively.

According to data from the Quzhou municipal postal administration, Quzhou's parcel delivery volume soared to over 14.59 million from Oct 24 to Nov 11, a 19.6-percent increase from the previous year.

Thanks to advanced intelligent sorting systems, up to 20,000 parcels per hour can now be processed automatically, vastly improving delivery speed and efficiency.
