Jiangshan discovers first underground hot spring
The exploration of the Changtai geothermal hot spring in Jiangshan, a county-level city in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, has passed its field test, according to Tide News on Nov 13.
This hot spring is located in Changtai town, Jiangshan, Quzhou, marking the first discovery of a geothermal well in Jiangshan.
"The well is 895.33 meters deep and outputs 1,200 cubic meters per day at a temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, making it one of the highest quality geothermal hot springs in Quzhou," said Zhu Jian, an official from Jiangshan's natural resources and planning bureau.
"The water sample from the wellhead shows that this mineral water is rich in beneficial trace elements, with high therapeutic value, reaching the AAA standard for hot springs in Zhejiang," Zhu said. Notably, the fluoride content, often referred to as the "sapphire" of hot springs, exceeds 16 milligrams per liter.
Moreover, this hot spring is in a good location with convenient transportation, and it is expected to boost the development of the local tourism industry.
The hot spring in Jiangshan still needs pumping tests and other procedures to obtain the necessary qualifications before it can be developed and utilized for public use, according to an official from Quzhou's natural resources and planning bureau.
