Zhu becomes Quzhou's first national-level Go referee
In September this year, Zhu Aimin from Jiangshan, a county-level city in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, received a national referee certificate issued by the Chinese Go Association, becoming Quzhou's first national-level Go referee.
Zhu has a deep passion for Go and has been dedicated to teaching the game for years. In 2016, he established his first training classroom in Hecun town, Jiangshan, and now has three.
Zhu's teaching approach emphasizes not only techniques but also the fun and science of the game. He explains to his students that the invention of QR codes was inspired by Go and made a large QR code out of Go pieces to show them. He also shares the history of Go in a vivid and engaging storytelling manner, making the learning process enjoyable.
As a referee, Zhu said he believes that Go is not only about technique but also about virtue.
He also gives free Go classes in schools and communities to introduce more children to the game and foster a love for Go.
