The first pair of 500-meter-long steel rails was successfully laid on the ballastless track bed at Quzhou West Station on Oct 29, marking the commencement of full-scale track laying for the Hangzhou-Quzhou High-speed Railway.
The Hangzhou-Quzhou High-speed Railway is a rapid transit route within Zhejiang province, connecting Hangzhou and Quzhou. The newly constructed mainline stretches approximately 131 kilometers and has a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Bridges and tunnels account for 83.7 percent of the route.
A total of 299 kilometers of track will be laid for the Hangzhou-Quzhou High-speed Railway, and the track-laying process crosses several existing operational railways, requiring high precision and tight scheduling.
A maximum of 6 kilometers of track can be laid for the Hangzhou-Quzhou High-speed Railway per day.
"We are using the most advanced intelligent construction scheduling system in China to implement real-time remote monitoring of equipment status and achieve informatization and visualization of track laying operations, thus improving efficiency and ensuring safety," said Dong Jiang, an employee of China Railway No 3 Engineering Group Co and the person in charge of track laying for the Hangzhou-Quzhou High-speed Railway.
The Hangzhou-Quzhou High-speed Railway is scheduled to complete track laying by January 2025.
