At the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup 2024 in Shanghai, Yu Yiting from Quzhou, Zhejiang province, set a new Asian record in the women's 100-meter individual medley, clocking in at 57.51 seconds to claim the silver medal.

Yu's performance was outstanding at the World Aquatics Swimming World Cup 2024 in Shanghai. In addition to her silver in the 100m individual medley, she also won silver in the women's 200m individual medley, silver in the 100m butterfly, and bronze in the 50m butterfly.

Yu said that she plans to seek out more opportunities to engage with international competitors and that building connections with foreign athletes helps enhance mutual understanding.

"I'm quite satisfied with my results at this event. I will continue to work hard in the upcoming competitions, aiming to strengthen my chances for gold in future events," Yu said.

The World Aquatics Swimming World Cup 2024 in Shanghai was held from Oct 18 to 20 at the Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Oriental Sports Center, with team China emerging triumphant with a total of 24 medals, including six gold, 11 silver, and seven bronze.
