65,000 sheep living 'smart life' in Quzhou
At the Huaxin Hu Sheep Ecological Demonstration Park in Jiangshan city, Quzhou, 65,000 sheep now enjoy a "smart" lifestyle in a fully automated facility.
Equipped with electronic ID tags, each sheep's vital data — temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide levels, and more — is constantly recorded and analyzed on a cloud-based system, allowing for real-time insights into flock health and growth.
Wu Liheng, deputy general manager and technical director at Zhejiang Huaxin Animal Husbandry Co, explained that the electronic ear tags act as 'ID cards' for each sheep, paired with an automated weighing and performance assessment system that provides precise, up-to-date data on each animal's growth and breeding performance.
In the facility, feeding is managed by an automatic mixer, waste is handled by automated cleaning and disinfection systems, and an organic fertilizer plant processes manure using advanced deodorizers and monitoring devices. Through a centralized digital platform, managers can issue commands with a single click, ensuring precise and efficient farm management.
