Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province launched its 2024 "Week of Virtue" on Sept 22, kicking off a series of cultural and civic activities to promote civility and regional cooperation.

During the opening ceremony, Quzhou, along with Huangshan in Anhui province, Nanping in Fujian province, and Shangrao in Jiangxi province, introduced a joint initiative to strengthen collaboration in cultural tourism, festivals, and civilization-building efforts.

The "Week of Virtue" is held annually during the week of Confucius' birthday on Sept 28, which ran from Sept 22 to 30 this year. The event featured more than 20 activities, including a "waste sorting for every household" volunteer campaign and a "six etiquettes in cultural tourism" short video exhibition.

A Quzhou official emphasized at the opening ceremony that the "Week of Virtue" celebrates the city's Southern Confucian heritage and underscores its commitment to promoting civic virtues and regional cultural exchanges.
