"Please be careful not to touch the models," advises an elderly man as he moves through the bustling Quzhou City Exhibition Hall, reminding visitors of the guidelines.

This dedicated volunteer is 68-year-old Weng Jianjun. His daily routine includes providing home services for the elderly, participating in community patrols, and volunteering at various locations across Quzhou.

After retiring in 1980, he began his journey of passionate volunteer service. Wherever he goes, if he encounters someone in need, he stops to offer assistance.

Upon his retirement in 2017, Weng devoted himself entirely to volunteer work, diligently helping residents resolve issues and mediate conflicts. His service scope has gradually expanded to include school crossings and traffic posts. He even earned a Red Cross first aid certification and carries a first aid kit with him at all times.

On June 6, 2021, at around 11 am, a passenger on Quzhou's Route 1 bus suddenly fell ill. Weng happened to be on the same bus. He promptly administered quick-acting heart pills from his kit and assisted medical personnel in getting the passenger to an ambulance. Thanks to his swift actions, the passenger's life was saved.

From his youth to his senior years, Weng Jianjun has been committed to volunteer work for 44 years. "Doing good deeds is a lifelong belief. As long as I can move, I will continue to do this," Weng Jianjun says.
