Construction has begun on an advanced medical imaging equipment industrial park in Quzhou's Intelligent Manufacturing Town.

Funded by Zhejiang Lead Medical Equipment Co, the facility will produce Magnetic Resonance Imaging systems, X-ray Computed Tomography systems, Digital Radiography systems, Color Doppler Ultrasound devices, and their core components and detectors.

This project marks Quzhou's first foray into advanced medical imaging equipment with technological breakthroughs and internationally-leading standards, and is expected to inject significant vitality into the city's healthcare industry, noted a local official.

This is the second project by Lead Technology Group to be established in the Intelligent Manufacturing Town, following its rare materials project, and the company decided to establish a presence in the city largely due to its solid industrial foundation, abundant natural resources, and favorable business environment, according to Zhu Shiming, executive director of the company.

The town has attracted 51 new projects with a total investment of 69.31 billion yuan ($9.53 billion) this year.
