Qinghu Ancient Town in Jiangshan, a county-level city in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, has been shortlisted as a nighttime culture and tourism destination, as recently announced by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
The 1,400-year-old town was prosperous during the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) and is best known for its dock and commercial cultures.
Qinghu boasts more than 20,000 square meters of ancient buildings and is home to 16 provincial cultural relic protection units.
A national 3A scenic attraction, the town has undertaken a range of proactive measures to highlight its rich tradition and cultural heritage, including staging intangible cultural heritage performances, organizing live-action performances, and captivating audiences with mesmerizing light shows.
