Dried rice noodle preparation techniques in Shuangqiao village, Qujiang district, Quzhou, Zhejiang province are playing a significant role in aiding its common prosperity drive.
Shu Xueliang, who is the fourth-generation inheritor of the techniques, said that his workshop provided jobs to 10 residents who are paid more than 4,000 yuan ($559.89) per month each.
The village established a common prosperity workshop in 2022, aiming to integrate its six individual dried rice noodle workshops, and has established platforms for the unified procurement and centralized marketing of specialty agricultural products. It has also established cooperative ties with e-commerce platforms to expand sales channels for the dried rice noodles.
The common prosperity workshop also invested 10 million yuan in February to build a dried rice noodle industrial park, which will provide facilities for research and development, production, immersive experiences, and study tours.
The park is expected to be put into operation next June and will be able to produce six metric tons of dried rice noodles per day. The annual output of dried rice noodles in the village is expected to reach 750 tons, with an output value exceeding 7 million yuan.
