The world's largest intelligent manufacturing facility for cells, batteries, electric drives, and energy storage systems was put into operation in Quzhou, Zhejiang province on Dec 14.
The latest energy system consisting of electric drive systems, batteries, and cells on the 800V platform went offline at the facility on the same day.
The facility, which was funded by Geely Holding Group, cost 22 billion yuan ($3.08 billion) to build, also unveiled the world's first mass-produced 800V lithium iron phosphate ultra-fast charging battery, called the "GoldBrick Battery" on the same day.
The GoldBrick Battery has a volumetric utilization rate of 83.7 percent, making it the highest volumetric utilization rate power battery in the world. It is also the fastest-charging 800V lithium iron phosphate battery in mass production globally and is recognized as the safest power battery worldwide.
An Conghui, president of Geely, noted that as an important participant in Quzhou's new energy vehicle industry and a key driver of industrial transformation, Geely will continue to increase investment and cooperation in the city.
