The third edition of the World Health Conference of Acupuncture and Moxibustion was convened in Qujiang district, Quzhou, Zhejiang province on Nov 26.

The event witnessed the signing of eight major cooperative projects. The collaborations aim to export the "Qujiang Experience" and "Qujiang Model" in the inheritance, innovation, and development of traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture.

As the hometown of Yang Jizhou, a prominent acupuncture expert from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), Qujiang has strategically focused on the culture of acupuncture and moxibustion in recent years. Efforts have been made in brand building, talent cultivation, industrial concentration, and cultural promotion.

The conference also featured the unveiling ceremony of the Yang Jizhou Acupuncture Research Institute, the awarding of certificates by the World Acupuncture Society's Educational Guidance Committee, the designation of Qujiang as a training base for health-preserving techniques by the Chinese Acupuncture Society, and the certification of Quzhou as a provincial and municipal-level rehabilitation institution for disabled children.

Quzhou, renowned as the birthplace of Southern Confucianism, boasts a profound history in traditional Chinese medicine. Across generations, it has produced eminent medical practitioners, establishing a distinctive local tradition of Chinese medicine.

Quzhou has successfully established the country's unique Acupuncture Museum, attracting numerous outstanding acupuncture professionals from both domestic and international arenas.

Expert studios have been set up, and a health management center has been constructed to promote various traditional Chinese medicine practices such as acupuncture, tuina massage, moxibustion, and cosmetic acupuncture.
