Quzhou sees booming online sales during 'Double 11' shopping festival

Quzhou witnessed a surge in online sales during the Double 11 shopping festival, which concluded on Nov 11.

The city's online retail sales reached 3.05 billion yuan ($421.1 million) during the shopping festival, an increase of 15.17 percent year-on-year. Ten enterprises had online retail sales exceeding 10 million yuan, and three enterprises had online retail sales exceeding 100 million yuan.

The top three industries in terms of online retail sales for physical products in the city were communication equipment, clothing, footwear and textile products, and office supplies, which accounted for 47.81 percent, 16.47 percent and 8.98 percent of total online retail sales, respectively.

The city saw 1.44 billion yuan in rural e-commerce retail sales, of which agricultural products accounted for 58.09 million yuan.

The city’s live streaming e-commerce retail sales totaled 190 million yuan. The proportions of online retail sales on live streaming platforms such as Douyin, Diantao and Kuaishou were 53.65 percent, 43.68 percent and 2.68 percent, respectively.
