Quzhou farmer paintings shine at intl exhibition
The Chinese Silk Art Exhibition opened in Hungary on Oct 24, featuring 80 pieces of ancient and contemporary silk artworks. Among them, five silk scarves featuring Quzhou farmer paintings are on display at the exhibition.
Farmer paintings depict rural life and culture in vibrant colors and expressive strokes. The paintings reflect the beauty and richness of Quzhou, a city in East China's Zhejiang province.
In early October, several farmer paintings from Qzuhou were submitted to the China Silk Museum, the co-organizer of the exhibition. The museum selected five works as excellent examples of contemporary silk products and printed the paintings on silk fabric.
The silk scarves depicted harvests, tea-picking and mountain bike races in Quzhou's countryside.
"I'm very happy and proud that my works are being shown on an international stage. I hope to show the world China's beautiful mountains and rivers and rapid development through my brush," said Zheng Limin, president of the Yudong Farmer Painting Creation Association.
The exhibition will run until Dec 3 at the Hungarian Agricultural Museum.
