12 Quzhou athletes ready for Asian Para Games

The 4th Asian Paralympic Games in Hangzhou will be held from Oct 22 to 28. A total of 12 athletes with disabilities from Quzhou will participate in three of the Games' events: boccia, goalball for the blind, and rowing.

Ten athletes from Quzhou – Zhu Xiali, Xu Yonggang, Weng Feibiao, Wu Yanfeng, Fan Hongyan, Feng Shugui, Chen Guoqiang, Zhang Huayong, Song Jinqi, and Zhou Xiaofang – will participate in the boccia event.

The boccia competition is for athletes with physical and visual impairments. The boccia event at the Asian Para Games includes men's singles, women's singles, and mixed doubles competitions with eight levels each, totaling 24 sub-events.

Ke Peiying from Quzhou will take part in the goalball event. Ke and her teammates previously won the women's goalball championship at the 2023 IBSA World Blind Sports Games.

Yang Jie will compete in the rowing event. Yang was selected for the Zhejiang Disabled Para-rowing Team in April 2010 and won the rowing championships at the 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th National Games for Persons with Disabilities.
