Quzhou, a city with a rich cultural heritage and natural scenery, has seen a booming tourism market in 2023, especially during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday.

According to the Quzhou culture and tourism bureau, Quzhou received 1.87 million tourists from around the world during the eight-day holiday, an increase of 10.19 percent year-on-year.

Quzhou has taken advantage of the Hangzhou Asian Games, which attracted global attention, to promote its unique tourism products and policies. The city launched three special tourism routes during the Asian Games, as well as free tour policies for scenic spots.

The city welcomed tourists from countries such as the United States, South Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Malaysia and Singapore, who came to experience the charm of Quzhou's culture.

The city's tourism market has also undergone structural changes as tourists' preferences have shifted from traditional sightseeing to leisure. Tourists are more interested in niche new formats such as food markets and street performances.

In addition, the proportion of young tourists in Quzhou has been increasing. In response, the Quzhou culture and tourism bureau has launched a series of cultural activities for young people. In the first half of this year alone, Quzhou held more than 4,800 performances, which was 5.3 times the previous annual plan of 900.
