Tour Quzhou following Asian Games torch relay route

The Hangzhou Asian Games torch relay reached its 11th leg in Quzhou on Sept 19.

The relay spanned a total length of 8,844 meters. A total of 170 torchbearers set off from the Temple of Southern Confucianism, passed through Shuiting Gate, Nanjie Street, Shuyuan Bridge, Moon Bay Park, Luming Park, and Luming Cultural Academy Street, and finally arrived at Quzhou Municipal Plaza.

Here are some of the tourist attractions along the route.

Temple of Southern Confucianism

The Temple of Southern Confucianism has been relocated and rebuilt three times. The current site has a history of more than 500 years and is a national key cultural relic protection unit.

It covers an area of 14,000 square meters and was built in the style of the Confucius Temple in Qufu during the Song Dynasty (960-1279).

Shuiting Gate Historical and Cultural Block

The Shuiting Gate Historical and Cultural Block covers an area of 9.37 hectares. The block is composed of three streets and seven lanes, with a total of 14 national, provincial and municipal key cultural relic protection units and 59 historical buildings.

The buildings reflect the characteristics of residential complexes in Western Zhejiang in the Minguo period (1912-1949).

Wenchang Pavilion

Wenchang Pavilion is one of eight pavilions in Quzhou. It is adorned with colorful, old Suzhou-style paintings. Each floor has a different theme, including painting, the god of literature, China's imperial examination system and Quzhou's list of scholars from past dynasties.
