Gu Zihao wins 1st Lanke Cup World Go Open Championship

Gu Zihao of China won the finals of the 1st Lanke Cup World Go Open Championship, which were held in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on June 17.
The 1st Lanke Cup World Go Open Championship was divided into three stages: a preliminary round, a knockout round and a final round.
In the preliminary round, 227 players competed in Quzhou. In the knockout round, chess players from China, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Europe, North America and other regions took part.
The finals consisted of a three-game showdown between South Korea's Shen Zhenxu and China's Gu. Gu won with a 2-1 victory over Shen.
The Chinese Weiqi Association, Quzhou municipal committee of the CPC and Quzhou municipal people's government sent congratulatory letters to the Chinese national Go team.
This year, Chinese players have won both the LG Cup World Go Championship and the Lanke Cup World Go Open Championship. The national Go team is also expected to compete for medals in the 19th Hangzhou Asian Games and contribute to the development of Go in China.
