Country music vitalizes Quzhou villages

The annual Changshan UU Music Festival held in Xucun village, Changshan county, Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, since 2021 has been a boon to the local culture and tourism industry, according to local media reports.

"This year's event was viewed more than 8 million times online and promotes the development of other industries," said Ye Jiqiang, Party chief of Xucun village.

Data show that in 2021, the operating income of Xucun village increased to 220,000 yuan ($30,574) by holding the first Changshan Music Festival.

In 2022, the Changshan UU Music Festival brought overall consumption in the county to 6 million yuan. The host site, Xucun village, received 13,000 tourists in two days, generating more than 700,000 yuan in consumption revenue.

During the event held in 2022, sales of Changshan agricultural products and local delicacies exceeded 300,000 yuan. The average daily turnover of agritainment venues in Xucun village reached 10,000 yuan, five times more than usual, and the collective economic income of the village was about 300,000 yuan.
