Quzhou caviar sees robust export growth

Four hundred kilograms of Quzhou caviar worth $170,000 was recently exported to Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, local media reported on Nov 17.

Quzhou caviar was first exported in 2012. Annual exports have increased from 45 kg in 2012 to 167 metric tons in 2022, increasing by a factor of 3,700.

Quzhou Xunlong Aquatic Food Technology Co Ltd is the world's largest sturgeon caviar processing enterprise. Its output accounts for 70 percent of China's total and one third of the world's total.

The Kaluga Queen Caviar produced by the company has been served at many important occasions, including the G20 banquet and Oscar Awards Ceremony. It has also entered the supply chain of Lufthansa Airlines, one of Europe's largest airlines, for first-class meals.

The company's products are mainly exported to the European Union, Russia, South Korea, Japan, Singapore and Azerbaijan. From January to October, the company exported 129 tons of caviar, with an accumulated value of $40.12 million, a year-on-year growth of 20 percent.
