Quzhou's industrial output sees growth in May

The output value of industrial enterprises above designated size in Quzhou, Zhejiang province expanded 19.6 percent year-on-year to 26.57 billion yuan ($3.96 billion) in May, according to the Quzhou Bureau of Statistics.

During this period, the added value of industrial enterprises above designated size reached 5.56 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 12.2 percent and ranking second in the province.

This rapid growth in May can be attributed to the strong driving force of leading enterprises.

In May, the total output value of four Huayou companies, including Huayou Cobalt New Materials Co Ltd, Huayou New Energy Co Ltd, Huayou Resource Regeneration Co Ltd, and Huajin New Energy Co Ltd exceeded 4 billion yuan, which was 3.76 times the same period last year, leading to the city's monthly output value increasing by 13.3 percentage points.

In addition, the output value of the chemical industry, non-ferrous metals industry and computer communication industry saw rapid growth during this period.

The chemical industry achieved an output value of 22.21 billion yuan from January to May, a year-on-year increase of 44.5 percent.

Meanwhile, the output value of the non-ferrous metal smelting and rolling industry was 8.3 billion yuan, soaring 58.8 percent year-on-year.

The high-tech industry achieved an output value of 10.49 billion yuan from January to May, up 45.3 percent year-on-year.
