Quzhou sees growth in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fishery in Q1

The gross output value of the agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery industries in Quzhou hit 2.3 billion yuan ($348.57 million) in the first quarter of this year, up 6.5 percent year-on-year and the highest growth rate in Zhejiang, according to the Quzhou agriculture and rural affairs bureau.

The output value of animal husbandry, agriculture and fishery increased by 10.2 percent, 5.1 percent and 1.8 percent, respectively, while the added value of the first industry was 1.31 billion yuan, an increase of 5.2 percent year-on-year.

Over this period, the city's vegetable planting area reached 156,600 mu (10,440 hectares), a growth of 2.4 percent, while the output rose 4.3 percent to 307,700 metric tons.

The city harvested 858.65 tons of traditional Chinese medicinal ingredients, an uptick of 44.1 percent, while the output of dried bamboo shoots was 5,097.6 tons, an increase of 10.2 percent.
