Changshan bank, travel management company help locals seek prosperity
Changshan Liangshan Bank in Changshan county, Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, has partnered with Tengyun (Changshan) Tourism Management Co Ltd to build a modern tourism base in Jinyuan ancient village and bring prosperity to the local population.
By the end of 2021, the modern tourism base had received 76,000 tourists and generated more than 5 million yuan ($786,101.81) in revenue from catering, accommodation and sales of local specialties. Villagers' per capita income had increased by 60,000 yuan through rentals, housekeeping wages and sales of agricultural products.
The modern tourism base has received 60.7 million yuan in investment thus far, with 60 households participating in the project. Sixteen ancient residential buildings and six high-quality guest houses have been built.
Tu Meixiang, a resident of Jinyuan village, rented out her vacant rooms to the village government to serve as guest rooms for tourists last year.
"My monthly income as a housekeeper was about 1,000 yuan, but it later rose to 4,000 yuan, including my income from guest rooms," said Tu.
In addition, Jinyuan village has created modern farms to offer tourists fruit-picking and planting experiences.
So far, Liangshan Bank has helped 176 village collectives increase their operating income to 32.43 million yuan.
