Unspoilt forests provide path to well-being in Quzhou

It is known for its picturesque and bucolic coastal landscape surrounded by mountains – and it is this mountainous terrain and its climatic conditions that are said to make Quzhou city, located in East China's Zhejiang province, perfect for the development of forests.
Add to that the fresh air, twittering birds and fragrant flowers and the mountainous area also provides visitors with an unforgettable idyllic getaway from the city.

Forests in Longyou county
Among the most famous attractions of Longyou county – administered by Quzhou – are the Longyou grottoes, known as the ninth wonder of the world, clusters of ancient residential buildings, Lyuchunhu Mountain, bamboo forests and Rosewood Town.
Miaoxia township, located in the southern mountainous area of Longyou county, boasts abundant bamboo forests.
The bamboo forest area covers 4,950 square kilometers and the forest coverage rate of the township is 84.95 percent, with the forest green rate at 85.75 percent.
In addition, Sheyang township – renowned as an "ecological township", "water township" and "national medicine township" – is located to the southeast of Longyou. The entire area showcases pristine mountains, clear water, fresh air and unspoilt surroundings.
Forests in Jiangshan city
It's more than fair for visitors to take Shangyu town, located at the junction of Jiangshan city – a county-level city administered by Quzhou – and Quzhou's nearby Qujiang district as a prime example of the sylvan terrain to be found there.
The forestry area covers 108,130 sq km, ranking it fourth in size of the verdant areas under the jurisdiction of Quzhou.
Moreover, the forest coverage rate is 70.9 percent and the forest green rate is 71.65 percent.
