The on-site 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) renewal supporting facilities and modernization project of Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province completed the investment of 134.1 million yuan ($21.02 million), making progress in the targeted annual task, according to local media reports on Jan 3.
Quzhou has long boasted its water conservancy industry in Zhejiang even in the whole country. The Wuxi River diversion project is considered the most successful one of last year's water conservancy projects in Quzhou, which penetrates through 18 mountains and crosses 10 streams, with a total trunk canal of 82.7 kilometers.
The irrigation area under its jurisdiction is dubbed the largest irrigation area in Zhejiang with a population of 837,200 and benefiting over 36,400 hectares of farmland.
By the end of December 2021, a total of 32.5 km of canal lining had been completed and 65 buildings have been renovated.
