Hsu Tien-woo, a 66-year-old native of China's Taiwan, was invited by a friend and came to Huangtankou township – located in the Qujiang district of Quzhou city, in East China's Zhejiang province – in 2015.

After some investigation, he decided to start his farming business in Huangtankou, which is surrounded by mountains on three sides and with another side overlooking the river.

For seven years, Hsu ate and lived in the farm, immersing himself in his new endeavor.

He experimented in farming without the use of any chemical fertilizers, chemical pesticides and herbicides – to create a combination of organic planting and breeding an organic sustainable agricultural system.

In April, the farmer entrepreneur started livestreaming on the short video platform Douyin, also known as TikTok, through which he published short videos to spread his ideas about ecology, farming and organic living.  Now he has more than 250,000 followers and has had an estimated 30 million views.
