Shidashi Group from Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province was recently honored as a national demonstration platform for service-oriented manufacturing, becoming the first company from the city to receive this honor.
Founded in 1992, Shidashi is a one-stop service provider for manufacturers, with services including supply of industrial products, settlement, financing, after-sales maintenance, warehousing, and logistics.
In 2014, the company successfully moved its services online by launching a digital platform. The platform has helped users reduce comprehensive costs by over 20 percent, cut inventory by more than 30 percent, and increase product delivery efficiency by over 50 percent.
Service-oriented manufacturing is a new manufacturing paradigm that integrates manufacturing with service.
In 2016, China launched a campaign to boost the development of service-oriented manufacturing, which is expected to play a crucial role in upgrading the nation's industrial structure.
