Quzhou's retail sales gain in Jan-Sept
From January to September, total retail sales in Quzhou city – located in East China's Zhejiang province – came in at 58.94 billion yuan ($9.23 billion), an increase of 14.6 percent year-on-year, according to the latest statistics from the Quzhou municipal bureau of commerce.
During the period, the city's wholesale, retail, accommodation, as well as restaurant and catering industries continued to maintain sound growth, with growth in the restaurant and catering sector particularly eye-catching. Statistics showed that from January to September revenue in that sector reached 844 million yuan, with year-on-year growth of 34.8 percent.
Sales of cars, digital products and food also increased sharply. Book sales were also on the rise and Xu Ruoxiang, deputy manager of the Xinhua Bookstore, said that sales at his outlet were gradually increasing.
In addition, among the city's main domestic e-commerce platforms, the top three online retail sales areas were mobile phones, clothing and advanced office computers – accounting for a combined 61.5 percent of total retail sales of the real-economy sector in the city.
