The first sweet scents of osmanthus flowers wafted into the air in Quzhou city, in East China's Zhejiang province, in late October.
Each year, the osmanthus trees in the local parks never fail to charm and captivate both locals and visitors.
Lovers of osmanthus are entranced by the vivid colors in Luming Park, Yueliangwan Park and Nanhu Park, as well as in the various communities and roadsides in the city.
In terms of the best moments to enjoy the flowers, early in the morning and late at night are the most fragrant times. During the flowering period, half-open flowers generally last no longer than a day – and some even just half a day.
The delicate blossom, which measures only 1 centimeter across and grows in clusters scattered about the evergreen branches of the osmanthus tree, proves the point that in the flower world size and a grand appearance aren't everything. [Photo/WeChat account: quzhoufb]
