Xin'an Lake, dubbed "West Lake" in Quzhou, is in the center of the city – located in East China's Zhejiang province – next to the old city area and connected to the new city area and is, moreover, an urban river and lake water conservation scenic area.

The stunning scenery on both sides of the lake is known as an "urban balcony".

In 2011, the Xin'an Lake Scenic Area was listed as a national water conservation scenic area. In 2018, it was selected as one of the top 10 sports and leisure lakes in Zhejiang province.

The greenway around the lake was rated the most beautiful greenway in Zhejiang – and Quzhou was named as an "international garden city".
