Zhejiang's foreign trade up 30.6% in H1

The foreign trade of East China's Zhejiang province rose 30.6 percent year-on-year to 1.92 trillion yuan ($29.64 billion) in the first half of the year, official data from Hangzhou Customs showed on July 16.
Exports reached 1.38 trillion yuan, up 27.5 percent year-on-year, and imports rose to 537.86 billion yuan, an increase of 39.2 percent year-on-year.
Over the six-month period, Zhejiang's exports to ASEAN countries, Latin America, and India, which are all emerging markets, saw robust growth, amounting to 163.78 billion yuan, 130.85 billion yuan, as well as 46.66 billion yuan respectively, up 29.9 percent, 51.6 percent, and 45.1 percent year-on-year.
The province exported goods worth 262.44 billion and 244.26 billion yuan to the European Union and the United States in the first half of 2021, a year-on-year increase of 24.4 percent and 25.9 percent.
In terms of exported products, the value of exported high-tech goods rose 45.2 percent to 126.77 billion from January to June.
The value of imports from ASEAN countries, Latin America, and the European Union to Zhejiang amounted to 97.56 billion yuan, 52.98 billion yuan, as well as 47.81 billion yuan respectively, up 44.1 percent, 51.7 percent, and 23.4 percent in the first six months of the year. Imports from the United States, as well as Central and Eastern European countries saw substantial growth, up 82.7 percent and 98 percent respectively.
