Quzhou Connected Innovation Area of China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone was granted its nameplate at the China Zhejiang Investment and Trade Symposium on June 7, marking the official start of the area's construction work.
It's a move responding to the call to advance the reform and innovation of China (Zhejiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone.
In August 2019, the Zhejiang Provincial Government issued a document that clearly stated for the first time that connected innovation areas should be built at Zhejiang FTZ.
The approved Quzhou Connected Innovation Area covers a total area of 119.57 square kilometers, comprised of the 106.95-sq-km Xincheng area, the 7-sq-km Longyou area and the 5.62-sq-km Jiangshan area.
Construction of the Xincheng area will focus on industry digitalization, building the intermodal hub port and the digital economy smart industry.
The Longyou area will focus on such characteristic industries as green food and high-end home furnishings. It will promote the construction of emerging industries, including high-end equipment manufacturing, intelligent manufacturing and new materials.
Meanwhile, the Jiangshan area will attach great importance to the deployment of industries like home furnishings, high-end equipment, fire-emergency response and healthy living.
Moving forwards, Quzhou Connected Innovation Area will introduce and promote the mature innovation experience that has been formed in other free trade zones. It will explore the formation of a representative group of independent reforms and active innovations that reflect the characteristics of Quzhou.
