QCT triumphs at national innovation, entrepreneurial competition

The finals of the 3rd Vocational College Education and Teaching of Machinery Industry Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition were held in Qingdao city – in East China's Shandong province – with the action taking place online, in response to the need to observe novel coronavirus prevention and control measures.
More than 240 contestants from 58 middle or higher vocational colleges across the country competed and two teams from Quzhou College of Technology, or QCT, located in Quzhou city in East China's Zhejiang province, won the first and third places.
The finals had two parts: a virtual network online competition and a section for the online presentation of an innovation and business plan. In the competition's total scoring, the preliminary score accounted for 30 percent of the marks, the virtual network online competition accounted for 40 percent, while the score for the innovation and entrepreneurship plan accounted for 30 percent.
The two teams from QCT stood out in the finals and achieved excellent results by reportedly studying especially hard and practicing hard, conducting repeated simulations before the competition.
Established in 2002, QCT is a full-time public higher vocational school, operating under the auspices of the Zhejiang government. The school aims to provide students with technical skills in the fields of manufacturing, construction, management and services.
The school covers an area of 387 mu (258,000 square meters) and has total fixed assets worth 399.37 million yuan ($57.9 million), with 78.82 million yuan worth of teaching equipment.
