Through in-depth study and implement of the principles of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Quzhou city -- in East China's Zhejiang province -- has been focusing on reforming its medical insurance system, according to local officials.

They said that in November, Quzhou officially launched its electronic medical insurance certificate.

Now, when local residents want to see a doctor or buy medicine, all they need to do is swipe the certificate QR code on their smart phones to complete business such as registration and medical insurance reimbursements.

Currently, more than 400 designated retail pharmacies and medical institutions in Quzhou have accessed the system, which is expected to achieve full coverage within this year.
