The new Qu-Ning Railway, which runs from Quzhou in East China's Zhejiang province to the coastal city of Ningde in China's southeastern Fujian province, is set to open in September, rail officials have announced.

The train, which has Chinese scholartrees green as its background color, the same color as a normal speed train, is available in two models – one with nine short carriages that carries 720 passengers, and one 11 to 20 long carriages with a capacity of 1,102 passengers.

The line starts from Quzhou city, passes 30 stations, including Suichang, Longquan and Qingyuan in the south, crosses Baizhang Mountain into Fujian province and passes through Songxi, Zhenghe, Pingnan, before moving on from Zhouning to the final destination of Ningde.

Ningde is a prefecture-level city located along the northeastern coast of Fujian, with a land area of 13,400 square kilometers and a directly adjacent sea area of 44,600 sq km, and boasts the world-class natural deep-water port of Sandu'ao.
