Longyou county – administered by Quzhou city in East China's coastal Zhejiang province – has in recent years made big progress in forging deeper links with city ports in region, according to local officials.

They said it has collaborated with inland river ports including Ningbo in Zhejiang, Zhoukou in Henan province and Jining in Shandong province. By doing so, it had helped build an economic belt of river-sea multimodal transport along the river hub nodes, realizing the provincial government's "Mountains & Oceans Collaboration" (mountainous places cooperate with seaside places).

In 2018, the two governments of Longyou county and Zhenhai district in Ningbo in Zhejiang, formulated a second five-year development plan, based on the development of Longyou and Zhenhai 'Mountains & Oceans Collaboration Park.

Officials said that over the past two and a half years, innovation cooperation had enabled the industry park to take a new path to development.

One example is local manufacturer - Zofo Precision Machinery Co Ltd, which started production last November and whose output value to date has reached more than 20 million yuan ($2.9 million).

Company production supervisor Zhou Wangjun said that construction of the first phase of the company's new plant, involving an additional 3.3 hectares of land and an investment of 560 million, had begun its main  stage.

Zhou said the small and micro enterprise park not only to provide space but also invaluable software services for his company.

Zhang Feng, an official from Longyou said the Longyou and Zhenhai Mountains & Oceans Collaboration Park will continue to create a highland for science, innovation and R&D.
