Quzhou upgrades urban amenities and accessible facilities
A team of experts led by Lyu Shiming, vice-chairman of China Disabled Persons' Federation, visited Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province on Aug 5.
The expert team went to Quzhou to assess the progress the city has made in improving its urban amenities and accessible facilities.
The group inspected the construction of barrier-free environments at the Shuitingmen historic and cultural block and the passenger terminal at Quzhou High-speed Railway Station.
Lyu acknowledged Quzhou's unremitting efforts to build a barrier-free environment and improve the city's service functions.
"In the urban planning and construction of Quzhou, the awareness of barrier-free situations has been fully enhanced, and there are many highlights in the construction of accessible facilities and urban amenities, which show that Quzhou, as a 'model city of virtue', is paying special attention to facilities for the disabled," Lyu said.
