Quzhou's experience takes model role in national water resources video conference
The Ministry of Water Resources of the People's Republic of China held a video conference on the promotion of the application of electronic licenses and licensing system for water-taking May 21. Officials from Quzhou Bureau of Water Resources, as the only representative of prefecture-level cities, made an exchange speech at the meeting.
After it was included in the national pilot program, the Quzhou bureau attached great importance to the linkages between the Ministry of Water Resources, Zhejiang province, cities and counties, and strengthened cooperation with relevant departments by getting through the technical blocking points and difficulties.
It only took 27 working days for the first national electronic water-taking license to be releases in this city last year, achieving a new speed in deepening reform of the water conservancy administration. It was rated as one of the "top 10 grassroots water management experiences in 2019".
Currently, 41 electronic certificates and licenses have been issued in the city. Quzhou is expected to be the first city in Zhejiang to achieve full coverage of the city with electronic certificates and water-taking licenses.
The water-taking license system was one of the first electronic licensing systems to be approved by the State Council in 2019. In September last year, Beijing, Jiangsu province, Zhejiang province and nine other provinces (cities) and Quzhou city were designated as pilot areas for the application of electronic certificates and licenses for water-taking.
