With a total investment of 3.2 billion yuan ($450.93 million), the 215-kilometer long riverside highway running through the six districts and counties in Quzhou is the longest riverside highway in East China's Zhejiang province.

It is a provincial demonstration project on beautiful transportation economic corridors and also the first project in the province to use social capital to integrate rural road construction and maintenance.

Many of the city’s 20 scenic areas above 3A-level and 60 historical and cultural villages are connected in a series along the riverside highway, contributing significantly to building Quzhou into a citywide scenic area.

The riverside highway runs around the Y-shaped water area in the city and links the four shipping hubs, the airport, the high-speed railway station, and arterial highways, forming an easy to enter and leisurely transited tourism transportation system.

In accordance with the development concept of green and sharing, the highway is also a comprehensive project integrating transportation, water conservancy and tourism.  It is more than a highway -- it can also push forward Quzhou’s rural revitalization and economic development.

In the future, the city plans to improve the infrastructure along the riverside highway with service stations, bicycle rental stations and a smart tourism center.

The residents of Quzhou, a Model City of Virtue, will welcome the scenic belt construction project as it will develop industries along the highway, and, in addition, the 12 projects signed so far, with total investment of 6.57 billion yuan, include an aquarium industrial park, a pension project, and, last but not least, an amusement park.
