Shulan (Quzhou) Hospital will be built in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province, according to a signing ceremony held on April 21, local media reported.

The Quzhou municipal health commission and Shulan Group inked an agreement to construct the hospital at the ceremony.

The agreement states that Shulan will rent the housing from the Zhonglou and Fushi branch of the People's Hospital of Quzhou and convert it into an 800-bed hospital.

The hospital, at a cost of 400 million yuan ($56.52 million), will be a for-profit medical institution and will be constructed in accordance with the highest level of hospitals in China.

Shulan Hospital will focus on the development of hepatological surgery, infections, organ donation and transplants, and oncology into provincial-level and State-level departments and become a treatment center for patients in Quzhou with unique conditions or who are critically ill.

In addition to the establishment of hepatobiliary, pancreas, gastroenterology, uropathy, and minimally invasive endoscope departments, the Zhonglou section of the new hospital will mainly serve the elderly by establishing senile disease departments and rehabilitation and nursing centers, while the Fushi section will focus on the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases.

Moreover, Shulan Group plans to hire 100 medical experts in the next five years, including 50 experts with senior professional titles, according to the agreement.

Shulan Group was established by a group of academicians in 2013 and is a new type of medical group featuring medical services, medical education, clinical scientific research, information technology, investment and business incubation.
