Quzhou towns receive award from provincial government

Four special towns in Quzhou, East China's Zhejiang province were recently awarded construction land by the provincial department of natural resources, according to local media reports.

Root Carving Town in Kaihua county

Relying on the Root Palace Buddhist Cultural Tourism Zone, this town is expected to grow into a root carving center with global influence and competitiveness.

The town includes five zones with different focuses – sightseeing, root carving industry, entertainment, health maintenance and spiritual retreat.

Oramental Stone Town in Changshan county

With a planned area of three square kilometers, this town, relying on local robust stone industry, is dedicated to developing cultural tourism, e-commerce, and a sound pension scheme.

Quzhou Lithium Battery Material Town

Covering an area of 3.09 square kilometers, this town houses a number of well-known companies, including BYD, Samsung, and LG.

Hangbu Town

With an investment of 1.2 billion yuan ($173.31 million), Hangbu town, among the third group of special towns constructed in Zhejiang, aims to develop into a hub for the digitalized development of the fashion industry in Zhejiang.

Statistics from Quzhou Municipal Development and Reform Commission show that since the construction of special towns in Quzhou, the city has been awarded 1,365-mu (91 hectares) of land from the provincial government. In 2019 alone, Quzhou was awarded with 234.5 mu of land.
